There are some beautiful walks and hikes to be taken in and around the local area. Spend the day walking between three beautiful villages, or an hour climbing up through some of the local vineyards and try to spot all seven of the local church spires. You will find a map on the notice board in the village square. or we can provide you with a print out of the three main walks. Over the last few years we have seen more and more cyclists riding through our little village as it sits on one of the most popular routes from Albi to Cordes Sur Ciel; last year the Tour de France passed us on the way to Cordes.

Gaillac is one of the oldest wine producing areas in France, and many of the vineyards are open for wine tasting (Degustation in French - if you see this sign you can pop in for a tasting).

There are lots of swimming lakes around the local area, some have sandy beaches for sunbathing: ask us for details.
Aigulleze is just a ten minute drive and has sports activities both on land and in the river Tarn. Pop it into your satnav or click here for more information and directions, or ask us for directions. You can also take boat trips to Albi from here.

Gaillac
This is our nearest big town and has a good number of essential shops, restaurants, an abbey and historical museum. It has a large outdoor market on Friday mornings and an organic food market on Tuesday evenings.

Albi
Albi is a Unesco World Heritage Site and has the largest brick-built cathedral in the world, along with picturesque Italian sunken gardens and the Toulouse- Lautrec Museum. It has an undercover food market every morning (except Sunday) and outdoor market on Saturdays.
It has a large undercover brocante (antique/flea) market situated in Castelviel (walking distance from the city centre) on Saturday mornings. It is a 15 minute drive from us.

Cordes-Sur-Ciel
A picturesque bastide village with amazing views of the countryside and beautiful winding lanes to discover hidden treasures. Its market is on Saturday mornings. It is a 20 minute drive from us.

Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val
A beautiful town on the river Aveyron. It is popular for its canoeing and water sports or you can just wander through quaint streets. The films ‘Charlotte Gray’ and ‘The Hundred Foot Journey’ were filmed there.
It has a market on Sundays which winds its way through the town but can get very busy in July & August, so go early. It is a 45 minute drive from us.

The capital of the Occitania Region and a large vibrant city. Great for shopping, sightseeing and just wandering through the streets discovering beautiful buildings and architecture. 

The Cite De La Space [Space Museum] is situated on the outskirts of the city, as well as the Airbus Factory, which offers visits. It is a 50 minute drive from us.

Carcassonne
This is a famous and impressive medieval fortress town which is now a Unesco World Heritage Site, which also sits close to the Canal du Midi. This is well worth a day exploring. It is a 1hr 45min drive from us.

​​Brocante Markets and Flea Markets
We love to rummage around a brocante market and you can find some amazing bargains; it’s worth haggling too!
Our local brocante market is held every Saturday in Albi at Place du Foirail Castelviel (click here for a google map.) It starts at 8am and finishes around midday.

Le Jardin De Martel
This ranks among the most beautiful of French gardens. There, you will find displays of all horticultural types, an exotic and aquatic glasshouse, a panoramic viewpoint, a banana plantation and a mini farm. The whole area is home to more than 2500 different varieties of plants. It is a 40 minute drive from us.
